There seems to be a very big trend at the moment of completely overhauling and updating the look and feel of your brand or website. Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Youtube, Google and many more have all put some time and effort into updating their offerings within the last year. However many of these design updates were long overdue and arose from a shift in technology, which is allowed I suppose. But Facebook hasn't stopped changing it's look since 2005, when it first hit the World Wide Web.

The choice available has always been extensive, and the ability to download icons in png, ico or icns format has always appealed.

Now they've released their Marketplace, which allows designers to sell their icons through the site. Read More

There's a lot of competition between smartphone apps on their respective stores. One thing i've come to notice however, is that the apps that do really well, are not only beautifully designed, but have equally beautiful websites to accompany them. It seems the designers not only embraced the creation of the app's user interface, but also embraced its desktop counterpart.

Logo design is one of the most complex tasks that a graphic designer will ever undertake. It is your duty to translate and interpret the fundamental nature of what a company does, and convey it to the world. If done correctly, your logo will be seen and instantly recognisable to hundred, thousands or even millions of people. it has to also be something that looks good on a large screen, in print, on mobile devices and even possibly merchandise.

I'm a fair believer that less is more. I'm a simplistic soul and simplistic design is something that really inspires and excites me. There's very little else that can compare to the simplicity of a monochrome logo. Instantly recognisable, invertible, and works on any medium.

This is a small collection of 15 monochrome logos that I love! Read More
