Typographic Posters Of The Lion King

Vermont-based design studio Untreed Studios has created a series of typographic posters that was inspired from the popular Disney film ‘The Lion King’.

Each poster features a prominent character from the film, as well as quote made by the character. Very Cute!

Typography is one of the most important elements of web design, and is gaining momentum in the world of dev. This shift is important for the future of web design, but it also comes with a learning curve. That’s why it would be nice if more Web design tools took typography into consideration.

Slab Serif is here to stay

In typography, a slab serif typeface is a type of serif typeface characterised by thick, block-like serifs. Serif terminals may be either blunt and angular (Rockwell), or rounded (Courier). Some consider slab serifs to be a subset of modern serif typefaces.

Calligraffiti at its best

Calligraffiti is a combination of calligraphy and graffiti. It is about the art of writing and very often uses Arabic or Japanese characters, sometimes using the Western alphabet in Eastern style. The father of Calligraffiti is Niels Shoe Meulman, who started to experiment with mixing calligraphy with graffiti: traditional handwriting with a metropolitan attitude.

What could Ryanair look like?

In my day job, I work with a very talented designer called Philip Joyce. He was tasked with a massive undertaking last week. That was to reimagine and redesign the monstrosity that is the Ryanair website. Although the finished product has been admired by many, it has also been pulled apart by the hating few. My question to these people… could you really do any better (in a few days while trying to get all of your other work done simultaneously)? And if you think so… bring it on!
